The Black Moon does not stay where it was at your birth. It moves on, a little under nine months per sign for the Mean, and during each passage it makes a lack audible, for everyone in the sign, for each person in one house of their chart. Today the Mean Black Moon is crossing Capricorn.
What a transit of the Black Moon does, and does not do
A transit of the Black Moon announces nothing. I want to say this before anything else, because it is the first question I am asked. The Black Moon is not a body that acts; it is a void that moves, and for a few months it stands at one place of the zodiac and of the chart. What it does there is make a lack audible: the Call, which I described on the page Lilith, the Black Moon, makes itself heard where the Black Moon passes.
It does not cause events. When an event occurs during the passage, a departure, an ending, an encounter, a weariness, I do not read it as a blow of fate but as what makes the lack visible. And the answer is not sought where the lack makes itself heard, but opposite: the three respondents, Christos, Apollo and Priapus, transit opposite the Black Moon, sign for sign and house for house.
By sign
What each passage awakens for everyone, with the ingress and egress dates of the Mean Black Moon: Lilith in transit through the signs.
By house
What the passage awakens in each area of your life, and where the answer is sought: Lilith in transit through the houses.
On the Ascendant and the Descendant
Conjunction, opposition, square, trine and sextile of the Black Moon in transit to the axis of presence and encounter: Black Moon in transit to the Ascendant and the Descendant.
The returns of the Black Moon
The Mean Black Moon comes back to its natal position about every eight years and ten months, around the ages of 9, 18, 27, 35, 44, 53 and 62. These are the moments when the Call makes itself heard most clearly, and when one can measure the answer one has given it. The application tells you the date of your next return.
