Lilith in the birth chart

Black Moon in Taurus

In Taurus, the Call takes the quality of the sign: stability, presence and fidelity to what has true worth. I would like to show what this lack demands of each of the three Black Moons, and where it finds a livable form.

What Taurus does to the Call

Taurus is the sign of earth that holds: the body, rhythm, pleasure, what lasts. When a Black Moon stands here, the lack lodges in security. I see this placement in people who seek a footing so perfect that every change becomes a threat, or who want to keep intact what once gave them peace; and in others who manage to keep nothing, neither goods, nor place, nor rhythm. The lack is neither attachment nor its opposite. It is a place left open in what should hold, and that place calls.

I then read the three Black Moons separately, because they do not ask for the same thing in the same sign: the Mean seeks a course there, the True brings up what calls in the body, the Corrected seeks attunement between the two. For each, here is what I wrote in volume 1.

Mean Black Moon in Taurus: the Alicorn

The Mean holds the course, and in Taurus that course takes the quality of the sign. The demand is fine and it is formidable, and the answer is never to reach the absolute perfectly:

In Taurus, the Alicorn indicates a direction of stability, presence, and faithfulness to what has true value. It can lead to seeking a security so perfect that every change becomes a threat, or to wanting to preserve what once gave a feeling of peace. The response is to build a form solid enough to endure without becoming immobile, and to discover that a deep value can remain itself while changing form.

True Black Moon in Taurus: Athena

The True shows what calls in the instant, in the body. In Taurus, matter rises in its own way, and Athena reveals what can no longer be deferred:

In Taurus, matter makes itself known through the body, basic needs, rhythm, pleasure, and the necessity of finding ground again. Resistance to change may signal that a real security needs protection, but also that an old form has become too narrow for what it was meant to preserve. The response is to listen to what the body truly needs and build a stability capable of welcoming change without losing its grounding.

Corrected Black Moon in Taurus: the Unicorn

The Corrected seeks attunement between the course and the push. In Taurus, that attunement has its own terms:

In Taurus, mediation concerns matter, security, and possession. Attachment can become so strong that it imprisons, or detachment so radical that it deprives one of support, and the Unicorn learns here to care for what the earth offers without seeking to possess it: taking root without becoming immobile.

The open cross in Taurus

Each Black Moon unfolds a cross: four stations that go from the call to the trial of the return, and that occupy the four signs of a single cross of the zodiac. The one starting from Taurus passes through Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius: the call in Taurus, the price of passage in Leo, the response at the point in Scorpio, the trial of the return in Aquarius.

In volume 2 I set side by side, station by station, the two respondents that travel this cross, Apollo for the Corrected, the form made habitable, and Priapus for the True, the power made present. At the first station, I have Priapus say, in Taurus:

"What I hold, I keep. Having compares to nothing else: what is in my hand is entirely enough for me."

And Apollo:

"I want to build something concrete, beautiful, that resists time. A work one can touch and admire."

The three other stations, and what each one costs, are read in the book.

What the book adds

Volume 1 gives for each Black Moon the complete portrait of the sign, and volume 2 unfolds the open cross in Taurus over its four stations, for Apollo and for Priapus, with the relationship to the world, to constraint, to otherness and to the future that each one engages. That is where the reading becomes precise, and that is where I left it.

Frequently asked questions

What does Lilith in Taurus mean?

That the Call of the Black Moon takes the quality of Taurus: stability, presence and fidelity to what has true worth. I do not read it as a shadow, but as a demand seeking a livable form, and that form is not the same for the Mean, the True and the Corrected.

Are my three Black Moons in the same sign?

Not always. The True can stray from the Mean by up to about thirty degrees, and the three are often found in two different signs. The application tells you which ones are in Taurus.
